A recently upgraded audio amplifier (IPC-4619-W) with a minimum voltage gain of 40 (32dB). The amplifier requires a smoothed/regulated DC power supply which can be provided by either a 12VDC mains adaptor (supplied by IPC separately) which connects to the rear of the unit or via the Red and Black 4mm sockets on the front panel (protected against incorrect polarity), this alternative supply option allows for an isolated 9V to 12VDC battery supply.
Output signals can be via the internal loudspeaker or can be fed from a pair of output 4mm sockets, this allows amplified signals to be displayed on an oscilloscope or used to drive a separate speaker etc.. The recently upgraded frequency response allows a full audio range (20Hz to 20kHz) along with a high end response upto 300kHz. A two-position switch is used to switch between the internal speaker or the signal output sockets.
Signal input is made via a pair of 4mm sockets on the front panel or via a 3.5mm mono jack socket on the side allowing connection to devices such as an Ipad/Ipod or mobile phone, full control of the amplification gain (volume) is also provided.
The unit can be used for a wide range of experiments and demonstrations, input impedance is 500k ohms (approx.) and as such the unit can be driven directly from a crystal microphone, signal generator, radio headphone output etc.
The unit is supplied in a robust ABS plastic case along with operating instructions.
